Last Friday, we had a fun time at Luckey’s with Novacane, Dandu, and thom simon
A night of great music is not uncommon in Eugene. Last Saturday was no exception.
Novacane opened the show, but they are by no means a warmup act. These guys are the real deal. They are a young alt-rock band, with nice undertones of jazz, blues, and a touch of funk.
Dandu is a three-piece touring band from Denver. Sean (bass), Ben (keys – synth), and Dylan (drums) are a killer band I have a rough time categorizing. Experimental jazz, funk, and psychedelic jam band. Might as well throw in some rock and funk for good measure. One of my new favorite bands.
thom simon are a local favorite. Jeff (guitar), Lindsay (keys), and Michael (drums) make up this crushing three-piece band. I guess psych-post-rock is an apt description. I have never seen these guys put on a bad show. I’m glad I got to catch them, Jeff told me they are taking a break from shows to write some new songs. I can’t wait to hear what’s coming next.
